Takeharu Ishimoto arranging music for Kingdom Hearts 3D
Square Enix in-house composer Takeharu Ishimoto has announced via the company's music blog that he will be arranging his own music from The World Ends With You for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. The composer says he has been working on the arrangements since last year. The action game for the Nintendo 3DS portable console, due out March 29 in Japan, features guest appearances by TWEWY characters Neku, Shiki, Joshua, Beat and Rhyme.

EarthBound 2012 tribute compilation free to download
Game audio enthusiast sleepytimejesse has created a Mother 2 sound font dubbed "EarthBound.sf2," based on 176 authentic Super Famicom instruments excavated from the role-playing game's ROM file. "I Miss You - EarthBound 2012" is a free 22-track tribute album uploaded to Bandcamp that makes original and innovative use of the sound font and features the participation of sleepytimejesse, Shannon Mason (Pongball) and other artists.
