Baiyon collaborating on PS3 music visualizer
At the end of Jaymin Kessler's GDC presentation on the physics effects of PixelJunk Shooter, it was announced on the bottom corner of a slide that PixelUunk Eden composer Baiyon would be collaborating with Q-Games on a new music visualizer for the Playstation 3.

IWADON: Spanky's Quest by Crashfaster
TCTD has posted the first promotional trailer for Game Music 4 All's Hiroyuki Iwatsuki tribute album that features a chiptune artist. 8bitsf's Crashfaster performs his cover of the Boss Battle theme from 1991 Natsume Game Boy title Spanky's Quest, set to footage taken at Kokoromi's GAMMA IV party at GDC. A list of IWADON's six participating chip musicians is included at the bottom of the post.

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker - Second night trailer
PSPHyper has embedded the second gameplay trailer from the forthcoming Playstation Portable title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The original soundtrack album, featuring music by Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi, is due out April 14 in Japan.

Game Music 4 All announces IWADON: Hiroyuki Iwatsuki Tribute Album, due out March 24
Game Music 4 All has announced that the next installment in their series of game cover albums is IWADON: Hiroyuki Iwatsuki Tribute Album. A partnership with Nobuooo.com, an incredibly diverse collection of musicians has been gathered from all over the world to pay tribute to a composer who has been creating amazing game soundtracks for 20 years. All music will be streaming on the official site beginning March 24, followed by a PAX East presentation on March 26.

NESBound Medley 4 (What if Earthbound were for NES)
YouTube user NewAgeRetroGamer has been remixing tracks from Earthbound for the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System as part of the “NESBound” remix project. The fourth cross-fade sample video contains arrangements of Kraken’s Theme, Battle Against a Machine, Sanctuary Boss Theme, and Smiles and Tears. Music by Keiichi Suzuki and Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka is remixed using Famitracker.

Sega has updated the official site for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 with a music section. You can currently download a seventy-second mp3 of the "Splash Hill Zone - Act 1" theme by composer Jun Senoue, which is also streaming on the site.

OverClocked ReMix releases Donkey Kong Country 2: Serious Monkey Business
OverClocked ReMix has released a Donkey Kong Country 2 remix album directed by Jeremy Waters and Wesley Cho. The album includes more than 30 tracks and over two hours of music. The credits theme is arranged and performed by Rare alumni David Wise, Grant Kirkhope and Robin Beanland.

Gaijin Games releases Bit.Trip Core Soundtrack
Gaijin Games has announced via their website that the BIT.TRIP CORE Original Soundtrack is now available via CDBaby and iTunes. The ten track album can be downloaded for $10, featuring chiptune composer and performer Bubblyfish. The soundtrack album to Bit.Trip Beat was previously released by the developers, featuring music by Bit Shifter.

Details on Tom Salta's Red Steel 2 score
For the Red Steel 2 score, Tom Salta enlisted veteran studio musician Steve Ouimette and recorded various instrumentalists for Chinese percussion, Shakuhachi, Fue, Pipa, harmonica and violin. A press release sent out today details the composer's work on the Red Steel soundtrack and its positive response from news sites like IGN.

Penny Arcade TV: screening and panel at PAX East
2 Player Productions' Penny Arcade TV series will be screened at PAX East, followed by a panel discussion by the pathfinding chiptune documentarians. Paul Levering, Paul Owens, Asif Siddiky and Gabe Liberti will answer questions from the audience after the screening starting 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 27.

Noriyasu Agematsu scores Square Enix iPhone RPG Chaos Rings
Square Enix is publishing a traditional JRPG developed by Media Vision (of the Wild Arms series) for iPhone. Chaos Rings will feature an original score by Noriyasu Agematsu. The composer previously has contributed to the soundtracks of Wild Arms the Vth Vanguard, Wild Arms XF and White Knight Chronicles. A debut trailer has been posted to the official website.

On the final day of the Game Developers Conference, music composer Vincent Diamante and SCEA sound designer Steve Johnson presented an audio session on the sound and music of Thatgamecompany's Flower. Mega Ran featured in this month's Nintendo Power
Mega Man hip-hop artist Random (Mega Ran) has a full-page feature titled "Mega Ran's Rhymes: When Rap and Rock Man Collide" in the latest issue of Nintendo Power, (which has Scribblenauts 2 on the cover). The rapper recently shared a cover of Mega Man 10's main theme called "Here We Go Again," continuing his Blue Bomber-inspired Mega Ran music series.
